Born in Paterson New Jersey , Artist Kavon Brown, the third eldest of 18 siblings, grew up in the streets of Paterson New Jersey in the Alabama Avenue projects.

As a youth he kept his self busy and out of trouble by being involved in various recreational programs that his loving mother enrolled him in. He became interested in art through comic books where he copied the images jumping at him through DC and Marvel comics, It was in the sixth grade where he entered a city wide competition and won, then and there he decided that art gave something back to him.

He attended a vocational high school, where he majored in Commercial art, further honing  his skills.

Kavon worked various graphic designer jobs, one in which he  designed graphic textiles for sweaters which were sold at stores like Sears and Kmart.

His creative desire also expanded even more when he was given a camera from his cousin DeeDee. He was awoken to the world of photography from that point on.

 

Kavon"s passion for creation stems from the desire to reach into a viewers heart and soul and touch a place that may evoke beautiful memories and possibly, create new ones.
